The aim of the course is to give students practical training and experience in network security applications by means of modern tools and techniques. Students are also interested in the existing network security tools and methodologies, especially around the field of firewall security. For the purpose, students will learn the most frequently used technologies and frameworks related to network security. The purpose of the course is among others to benefit the students in understanding and recognizing the attempts of the hackers and intruders to break the network security, and to effectively identify and bypass these networks flaws.

The course will be conducted in class room. The students are expected to prepare a presentation of their work for the final project course. The course is conducted mainly in English language in any mode of learning (e.g. lecture, discussion, tutorial) on a regular basis, except for final project and coursework I. The students should be aware that all their presentations will be video recorded and audio recorded based on their coursework.
