In his Monthly Film Bulletin'' assessment, John Patterson wondered what the need for a specical edition was. He noted that the drive through the airport in Rumble in the Bronx is used for the opening scene in Thakral's English version, and that there are fake English subtitles for the \"fun\" sequences. He also remarked how the stories of each film are very similar, and that the film left him wondering why he should bother going to see it at all.
In his review for The New York Times, Janet Maslin said that the car chase on the highway is the best thing in the movie, and also notes that the story, which involves bullying, is surprisingly relevant. She said that the film is sometimes funny, and has some nice action sequences, but that \"by and large, it seems to be a case of swing for the boys.\" She also noted that Jackie Chan is the new Charlie Chaplin. She also wrote that the film tries to make a statement about fighting a lack of respect, but “it’s a mixed bag”.
In 2009, Jackie spoke of his excitement at the series,Rollercoaster's success, and the film that's going to be released this year. He said, “I've had the privilege to work with the greatest stunt coordinators in the world, and my work has always been with a first-class team. They're masters at their craft. But working with them makes me realize how difficult and difficult it is to work today. We need a bit of help. We need a bit of direction.”
Paramount Home Entertainment released the film on DVD in the U.S. on July 23, 2003 as part of their All New Jackie Chan Collection. This version is uncut, with English subtitles and Cantonese Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. If the English language audio track is chosen, the Cantonese soundtrack is muted. 7211a4ac4a
