I have a general idea about this knife. I don't know exactly when it was made, but I am thinking of the Gerber Suisun model. However, I am not 100% certain that it was one of those. The reason I say that is that this knife does not have a leather sheath. Now, I don't remember seeing leather sheaths in those models. It could have been a design change or it could have just not been included in the Suisun.

Overall, this knife is in very good condition. I would say the blade is still sharp and the finish is very good. I know that Gerber had very fine finishes in the 1970's, but I am not sure if all of their knives were that way. It could just be me, but I am not sure how they could make a very fine finish on what I would think is a very basic knife. I would guess that this was a special order knife that was to be sent to a U.S. military base overseas.

This is the linerlock. The linerlock has a groove in the base plate of the linerlock. It is a simple and functional linerlock. It works well. This is a Gerber Guardian II. It is serial number D0677S.

Another Gerber Guardian II (serial number D0677S) that was used by my friend during the same operations. This was a carry knife as well. The blade appears to be the same as the one in the picture, but I could not tell. The handle appears to be the same though.
