An introduction to the aerodrome disciplines follows, emphasising the technical aspects of the requirements. The goal is to successfully meet ICAO requirements for aerodrome design and operation. The knowledge and understanding that would be required of an aerodrome designer agrees with the requirements of most aerodromes.
This document refers to the the design guide for Aerodrome Services Publication 11 (Revised Edition) and provides implementation suggestions to address the challenges associated with the new category of aerodromes, designated for the Maintenance and Repair of Aircraft Landing, Take-off and Taxiing Facilities.
This booklet introduces and explains the structure of Appendix MC to ICAO Regulation 9110 and describes the content of the Appendix MC in detail. While this book is for aerodromes and not for the manufacturers of powered aircraft, this book is important to the owner and user of an ICAO-approved supplier of aircraft t...
This course provides the apron management personnel with necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to ensure that the apron markings management is conducted effectively and efficiently, according to the ICAO Annex 14, Volume 1 and Doc 9157 Aerodrome Design Manual, Part 2 and Part 4.
Joseph Cheong, Technical Officer of Aerodromes at ICAO, discusses the updates of the latest 4th edition of Doc 9157 - Part 1. The manual provides further guidance and information that supports the operational practices and requirements needed for runway configuration, runway length, aeroplane per...
The purpose of this manual is to assist States in the implementation of the specifications for proper design of taxiway systems and help ensure their uniform application. Future editions of this manual will be updated to include any experience gained. A properly designed taxiway system ensures a smooth, continuous flow of aircraft ground traffic, operating at the highest level of safety and efficiency and contributes to optimum aerodrome utilisation. Subsequent to the Fourth Edition in 2005, new specifications on taxiways have been developed based on reliable, demonstrable and scientifically tested information. Revised specifications are expected to significantly improve efficiency, reduce construction and maintenance costs in addition to having a positive impact on the environment. d2c66b5586
